Well, in Norway we have the expression "tøffelhelt", which means "slipper hero". I was looking for something similar to that.

Tis cuckold methinks

Cuckold is not quite the same. That refers to the cuckoo's custom of leaving its eggs for others to hatch, and refers to the (strictly, unknowing) husband of an unfaithful wife. Whether she henpecks him or not is immaterial. A henpecked husband might by nature be a Caspar Milquetoast, but the two words are not synonymous. Some henpecked husbands are submissive only to their wives and quite assertive with others.
