The first regular standing army, composed of the English and the Danish (also called Thingmannalith)

It's the old Norse name for Canute's corps of housecarles.

It was the royal guard for Danish kings of England.
The first one to have a Thinglith was Sweyn Forkbeard, although I'm not sure it says in this reference.
