Nine dragons. "The name Kowloon is made up of two Chinese words, 'gau', meaning nine, and 'lung', meaning dragon. Tradition says that a boy emperor who once lived here noticed there were eight hills so he called them the 'Eight Dragon'. A servant pointed out that an emperor is considered to be a dragon, therefore hills plus the emperor were the nine dragon."
