Walter Huston did his famous dance upon striking gold in "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" released in 1948

Billy Crystal performed the same dance in "City Slickers II: Legend of Curley's Gold", giving credit to Huston.

In this decade, Matt Harding has popularized the dance worldwide, in a fashion, via Youtube:
