This is a very old one. A racehorse named Good Friday fell in a steeplechase race in England back in 1946. The race took place on Easter Monday, giving rise to thousands of quiz questions since such as "When did Good Friday fall on a Monday?".

Then again, the story is probably apocryphal. I located a story with some solid information as to where and when it happened, about a horse named Good Friday who fell in a race on Boxing Day in 1899. Since no two thoroughbreds can be registered with the same name (even after one of them is deceased), the fall on Easter Monday is unlikely. I was unable to find any solid details as to the location of that presumed race, which is how I came across the other one.
