What makes an orb an orb and a sphere a sphere whats the difference?

I agree with Ceetee. In addition, the word 'orb' seems to have multifarious specific meanings, whereas 'sphere' is a more general term for the exact same shape: http://www.orbsoflove.org/whatROrbs.html

A sphere is the correct term for the exact geometrical shape. 'Orb', 'globe', 'ball' and similar words can be used for shapes that may be out of true. The Earth is an oblate spheroid.
