Ipana was introduced as Ipana and (despite 2 breaks in production) is still available as Ipana from Amazon:

Ipana was the name of a popular toothpaste product manufactured by Bristol-Myers Company. Ipana was first introduced in 1901 by the Bristol-Myers Company of New York.

Kolynos was introduced as Kolynos and has sold as Kolynos, except for the mid-1990's when in sold in the South American markets as Sorriso:

Kolynos was the name of an old-time line of oral care products that was created by N.S. Jenkins in 1908. The brand was very popular in the thirties and forties, and sponsored several well-known radio programs.

The name "Ipana" seems to come from the Blackfoot word meaning "early:, which makes sense as Bristol Myers pushed Ipana tooth powder (and later toothpaste) for morning brushing.

Kolynos has an easier definition -- it comes from the Greek words "Kolyo nosus" meaning "disease preventer".
