An urn is a type of vase most often used for storing the cremated ashes of the deceased. When it has a spigot and is not a vase it is used for brewing tea or hot water for beverages.

An urn is a type of vase with a narrow neck, a footed pedestal and often a handle on each side. Urns can be used to store the ashes of a loved one and giant-sized ones are used as garden ornaments.
