Is 80s skateboarding legend, Rodney Mullen, deaf?

No. The only references I can find to Rodney Mullen and deafness are in his fascination with Beethoven, who when he was going deaf isolated himself and found himself.

"Mullen was amazed that Beethoven pushed himself into isolation once he became deaf, but explained that this is when he became himself. Mullen says, "Don't let anything poison your individuality. Be away, break away. Look inward, not outward." Mullen acknowledges, "My biggest blessing was being in isolation."

To hear Mullen speak, you would think there was an impairment.

I've seen video of him speaking. I do not see how you would assume he's deaf.
