Two sites I found that mention "digger station menu" both express amusement as this being a misheard version of "degustation menu." link http://www.independent.ie/life/travel/australia-fair-with-no-airs-or-graces-26227078.html, link https://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/New-Zealand/North-Island/Auckland/Waitakere/blog-468607.html

So, yes, North America also has degustation menus (a.k.a. chef's tasting menus), a series of small samples of a chef's signature dishes, often accompanied by matched wines, all meant to be tasted and savoured slowly. link http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/degustation, link http://gomexico.about.com/od/fooddrink/a/degustation.htm, link http://vancouverfoodster.com/tag/tasting-menu/

The confusion seems to arise from differences in accents and the particular meanings "digger" (soldier) and "station" (agricultural enterprise for raising sheep or cattle) have in Australia and New Zealand. link http://encyclopedia.tfd.com/Digger+(soldier), link http://encyclopedia.tfd.com/Station+(Australian+agriculture)
