Hindi / Urdu / Punjabi

The word "samdhi" refers to the father-in-law of one's child. "Samdhan" refers to the mother-in-law.

The parents of both bride and groom are "samdhi-samdhan" to each other. I am aware of these words in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi. There are similar words in other Indian languages as well.
