A wild guess is THE SOUND OF MUSIC. It ran for a very long time in Moorhead, Minnesota, as well. (It ran so long that people were picketing the theater to have another movie shown.)

I have found no hard facts, just some memories. One person records that they saw "The Longest Summer" there in 1966, but I find it hard to imagine that ran until into the 1970s.
Someone else recalls "The House of Wax" around New Year's Eve in 1972. This person also recalls that "King of Hearts" played there forever, and the first Muppets movie had a long run. However, another poster to the site below says "King of Hearts" was at another theatre.
The movie I attended there was Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was a cult classic shown at midnight and many in the audience dressed up and/orrecited the lines as responses along with the film. The theatre closed in 1984. I found this comment related to this in this blog. http://goodoldboston.blogspot.com/2011/02/first-spiritual-temple-exeter-theatre.html?m=1
