21 Laps Entertainment is an American film and television production company run by director-producer Shawn Levy. The company is best known as the creators of Stranger Things, and exclusively distributes content through a partnership with Netflix..

The origin of the name is a little random. The founder's daughter (the eldest of four) ran 21 laps in a jogathon when she was 5 years old in kindergarten. See this 1 min 57 sec excerpt of an interview for his explanation:
