Plymouth, which is still the de jure capital of Montserrat, an overseas territory of the United Kingdom located in the Caribbean. After the eruption of the Soufrière Hills volcano in 1995, the town was evacuated and two years later abandoned for good. In May 2019, construction of a new capital called Little Bay began. The currect de facto capital is Brades.
