The Turkish Abductions.
The Turkish Abductions (Icelandic: Tyrkjaránið) were a series of slave raids by pirates from Northwest Africa that took place in Iceland in the summer of 1627.

One of the amazing things about this attack which actually consisted if two raids, was the distance the pirates traversed. According to Professor Adam Nichols (University of Maryland) who co-authored a book on the subject, the raids involved a 6,000 mile round trip by sea.
