Gerhard Roßbach (Rossbach when Anglicized) was the Freikorps leader and extremist who bought the leftover khaki shirts from the German army in 1921, so that his Freikorps would be able to stay together on a bike ride to East Prussia. Soon after he joined the Nazi Party and participated in the Beer Hall Putsch of 1923, and he brought the shirts with him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard_Roßbach
