Amazingly, the last club to be champion of the top division of the Netherlands (the Eredivisie, or First Division) that did not wear red and white as its first-choice colors appears to be the Amsterdam football club DWS, which won the title in 1963-64.
Their 1964 triumph is the most recent occasion of a club without a predominantly red and white home strip (unlike recent contenders Ajax, AZ, Feyenoord, PSV and Twente) winning the Eredivisie title, a drought of 55 years.
