There are actually two - one of them is Sol, our sun. Even after the downgrade of Pluto to a dwarf planet in 2006, it is on top of the list with eight known planets. The only other star to have eight confirmed planets is Kepler-90, a G-type star located about 2,840 light-years (870 pc) from Earth in the constellation Draco.
