Abraham was the very first Jew. He was chosen by God, according to the sacred writings of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, to be the father of a chosen people.

According to Muslim lore, the Kaaba, the sacred black stone in Mecca, was built by Adam as a temple to God, then rebuilt by Abraham. Its veneration certainly dates back to before the founding of Islam.
