Its by Velvet Underground, I'm Sticking with you.....although I am not sure if it's the original on the TV

The song is indeed by Velvet Underground - the singer is Moe Tucker who was the group's drummer. The song was written by Lou Reed- the second verse is rather more sinister than the first:
You held up a stage coach in the rain And I'm doing the same So you're hanging from a tree And I made believe it was me
