The tune seems to have been associated with Geraldo and his Orchestra, a popular dance band of the 1930s who were still around in the 1950s. But I can't find a programme name.

Thanks Tabby Tom, with that bit of help I was able to find a site which listed several radio programmes he did, One of which was Band Box.
