When I learned 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' there were 12 lords a-leaping, 11 ladies dancing and 10 pipers piping. During a recent board game of 'Millionaire' I was told that this was incorrect. I think the card said 10 lords a-leaping. Convinced that the card was incorrect, I consulted the internet, which confirmed the answer on the card. My daughter's book on Christmas songs contains the version I learned. What are the original words?

I always remember it as 12 Fiddlers Fiddling. Ever thought what the recipient actually thought of all those gifts and how she thanked the sender?

I have looked at many websites and I'm afraid 'Millionaire' was correct, please look at this site which also provides you with the religious meaning.
