If your talking about the inverted V above the '6' on a computer keyboard, then it is called a 'carat'

A slight variation to that is given in my Reverse Dictionary which has a section on Printing Terms. A 'caret' is an arrow head mark indicating to the typesetter where material is to be inserted.
