Gulliver's travels
They fought over which end of the egg to crack open,the fat end or the thin end. It may sound stupid but no more stupid than some reasons wars are fought over.

In Gulliver's Travels there is the dispute between the Big-Enders and the Little-Enders, who argue constantly over which end of a boiled egg should be opened for eating.
