Why do doctors call what they do practice?

Because to practice for as long as they do requires patients (boom, boom!).

hehe. i always thought it was called practice, cos it is a practice...i guess they're saying that you cant always be so sure its actually expert, and wont always be perfect. The more you practice, the better you get at it? The more things you do as a doctor, the better you get at them? am i right?
