Limericks - either named from the Irish town, or as a corruption of Learics from Edward Lear, whose verses had a repeat of the first line for the fifth line, unlike the more modern form.

Example:
There was a young girl from Darjeeling,
Who laughed as she swung from the ceiling.
Her mother said "Hey,
You come down right away,
For far too much you are revealing!"
