He was obviously not in the original 1930s film but he may have played in some screen or stage version since. He does bear a vague resemblance:

Bert Lahr who played the cowardly lion died on 4th December 1967, so I think it's a bit unlikely. Not being an Emmerdale watcher, might I ask if there's a resemblance?
