I am having trouble authenticating the references I have seen for women inventing the jockstrap as none actually name a woman. In fact I have seen one site list a Charles Bennett as its inventor.
A few names are given in the site below:

The jockstrap was invented in 1874 by C.F. Bennett of a Chicago sporting goods company, Sharp & Smith, to provide comfort and support for bicycle jockeys riding the cobblestone streets of Boston. In 1897 Bennett's newly-formed Bike Web Company patented and began mass-producing the Bike Jockey Strap. The Bike Web Company later became known as the Bike Company. Today, Bike is still the market leader in jockstrap sales.

Besides the jockstrap inventor, the names of the women involved are:
Windscreen wipers: Mary Anderson designed them to clear snow off windscreens even before Ford had started his company.
Grocery bags: Margaret Knight - she invented the machine that glued and folded the paper to create these bags before moving on to developing aircraft rotary engines among other things.
Stephanie Kwolek: resarch chemist who first created Kevlar, used in such items as bulletproof vests.
Anna Connelly: Fire escapes on the outside of tall buildings.
