Yoda made a comment about being over 900 years old. You'd have to check a fan site to look it up, but Sidious is probably within the normal human life-span. Because it's fiction, there may not be a readily available answer, but my answer is: Yoda, by about 850 years.

I don't think what you said was right. Remember, the phantom menace was Darth Sidious. So who knows how old he is.

Hang on, I'm rusty in this.

Darth Sidious was Palpatine, right? (If not, disregard all following). Palpatine had a recorded history. He was in the Senate of the Republic. I thought the phantom menace was the Sith (of which Sidious most definitely is), and that it was likely that the sith Palpatine told Anakin about, the one who saved people he cared about using the darkside, was Sidious's master that he killed himself (that was never said, but may have been implied). Yoda said there were always two Sith, a master and an apprentice, and obviously they've been around for ages.

You might want to post over on the movie board to get more feed back, or even the literature board to hear from people who might have read books with more information.

According to Wikipedia, Darth Sidious, better known as The Emperor, lived from 82BBY to 4ABY.

(What BBY and ABY stand for I have no idea.)

Yoda, on the other hand, lived from 896BBY to 4ABY.

So, Yoda is much much older than Darth Sidious.

BBY stands for "Before Battle of Yavin" and ABY stands for "After Battle of Yavin".

The Battle of Yavin, was the official atack of the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Yoda was alive for only four years of the original trilogy, while he lived for 896 years before.

In one of the books, Luke notes the difficulty of dealing with the new dating system each government imposed on the events of the world. Each prefered to date events from some grand point in it's own history, so reading records was an incredible pain if you couldn't be sure what dates refered to which government's starting point.

I would say Yoda. Because Sideous has a pretty normal looking lifespan. Yoda is like 900.
