Gerald Ford
“I know I am getting better at golf because I am hitting fewer spectators.”
Also,
After leaving office, Ford was in high demand on the pro-am circuit and played often, drawing huge galleries. He answered a plea from Danny Thomas to participate in the entertainer’s struggling Memphis PGA tourney in 1977, where Al Geiberger shot 59 and Ford himself recorded a hole-in-one, his first of three.

'Performers have had holes in one (Frank Sinatra, Smokey Robinson and last month Justin Timberlake), as have star athletes from other sports (Roger Clemens and John Elway). And so have presidents (Dwight Eisenhower, Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon). Nixon called his ace "the greatest thrill of my life." Then again, he was watching the ball roll in the hole in 1961, seven years before he was elected president.' -
