Of course, if you are a Zappa fan...The Muffin Man didn't live anywhere...just hung out the table in the laboratory of the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen.

I'm finding that the classic answer is Drury Lane but there are many references out there to Strawberry Lane, Blueberry Lane, Mulberry Lane, etc.

The UK version is Drury Lane. The others sound like American versions - and they don't properly fit the rhythm of the tune. Blueberry Lane is definitely not UK.

But what the heck is a Drury? I was always taught that he lives on Strawberry Lane.

Drury was a person, star_gazer, and the name seems to be of Norman origin.

Baloo, I learned "Drury Lane" growing up in the U.S. I've never heard any "berry" versions.
