There was a song back in the early 60s or late 50s about a soldier coming home, that was sung by Fats Domino. Can anyone give me song's name?

Fats also sang "Christmas Gumbo" -- a version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" as well.

"When my dreamboat comes home" may be the song you are thinking of - it was not a Fats Domino original, but his 1956 recording of the song reached #2 on the R&B charts.
Written in 1936, it is not in the era of any specific war, and the lyrics do not specifically state where "dreamboat" was "coming home" from. However it was popular during WW2, and for many signified the expectation of loved ones returning home from war.

Closest I can get to it is "When My Dreamboat Comes Home" which is usually sung by a woman, and seems to relate to a returning soldier. If this is it, I have it.

You're probably right, Tom. The song dates to 1935 (a wonderful year) and we weren't fighting anybody then. Just a wild shot in the dark.

Also found some reference to a Fats Domino song called Korea Blues, for whatever that's worth. No lyrics given, however

Maybe we'll get lucky with this one then...but i doubt it, since this was from about 1951.....
