Pigeons do not have bones. Rather, they have a bone-like skeletal structure that redistributes force and weight throughout their bodies to prevent the crushing of organs and provide them with the strength necessary to manipulate their environment in order to survive and reproduce. This system, known as the bone "skeleton," is made up of a series of interconnected bone-like fibers that, fused together, are strong and grown with the bird as it matures.
