Slivovitz. Rakija (the Stokavian form that I am more comfortable with) is the omnibus term for fruit brandy of the region - Slivovitz is strictly plum brandy, by far the most popular variety.

I have lots of good slivovitz stories, of course;)

There are many kinds of rakia, depending on the fruit it is produced from.

Croatian Sljivovica and Slovenian Slivovka, two different names for the same drink, a plum rakia. The name derives from the Slavic word for a plum, Å¡ljiva or sliva.
