Which Jerusalem do you mean? It depends. There is an opera written by Verdi.

Or the song which uses the words from the William Blake poem "And did those feet in ancient time"

In the UK, 'Jerusalem' as a song title always refers to the Blake words and Parry music unless qualified. I have never regarded it as a hymn (Wikipedia) but as a political song - as political as Billy Bragg's stuff is now.
