What is 'Swedish rounding' and where can you find it outside Sweden?

"Swedish rounding is a method by which the total monetary cost of a purchase is rounded to the closest unit of physical currency."

It's found in Australia and New Zealand.

We do so in Norway, too.
One of the points with 'Swedish rounding' is that it makes it easier to get rid of small coinage.
Maybe a good idea to get rid of the US (and canadian) penny?
