She's real according to

The modernity or otherwise of Lada doesn't preclude her being the name origin for the car. It also doesn't preclude her being a goddess. They come and go, changing with the times. (Gods do too.)

The logo represents the stylized slavic/Viking boat called Ladia (Lad`ya). Lada is the name of a slavic divinity (goddess of youth, love and beauty).
