If anyone saw the UK programme on Wednesday, the autistic twins Flo and Kay Lyman had eyes with pupils that joined the iris on all their eyes. Was this the result of a cataract operation or something natural?

The Rainman Twins: From the moment they were born, Flo and Kay Lyman were unlike any sisters on planet earth. Thought to be mentally retarded, they were tormented by kids and survived a near-death experience at the hands of their own mother. What no one realised is that Flo and Kay are among the most brilliant people the world has ever seen.
I'm not finding anything about the eyes -- But, here is "A" documentary about these wonderful ladies...

Yes, that was the programme I just saw, a fascinating view of the brain's true potential. I'm sure if anyone medical saw it they can recongnise the eye condition, it was very distinctive.
The pupils looked like a partial eclipse of the moon at around 50% but could only be seen when they took their glasses off.
UK viewers- this will be shown again next week, Thursday 16th October, Channel 5 at 9pm. Look at the eyes when they take their glasses off near the end of the programme. Nearly a quarter of the iris is actually missing altogether in all their eyes.
